Sales and Leasing Consultant

Our sales teams work two alternating shifts, including weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and noon to 8 p.m. All teams work Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the option of one day off during the week.

A valid driver's license, good driving record, valid auto insurance, and ability to qualify for our company auto insurance coverage is required.


Purpose:

The mission of the Sales Consultant is to maximize vehicle sales and profit while maintaining the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties:

  • Aggressively and cheerfully performs or ensures performance of any and all activities necessary to improve and maintain the highest possible Dealership Customer Satisfaction level.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge of competitive models and their features, and how they compare to the Ford or Lincoln product.
  • Establish personal income and productivity goals that are consistent with dealership standards of productivity, and devise a strategy to meet those goals.
  • Be proactive by seeking new customers through prospecting and referrals.
  • Show concern for the customers' needs throughout the sales process.
  • Use closing techniques effectively; ask for help from management with closing when necessary. Be profit minded when closing.
  • Follow all dealership processes and procedures to ensure an excellent rating on the sales, delivery and follow up process from each customer.
  • Follow up with each customer to ensure their complete satisfaction.
  • Develop personal selling skills through continued professional training. Participate in the STARS training program as well as any other training requested/sponsored by Dealership.

Other Essential Duties:

  • Demonstrate new and used vehicles (includes test drives).
  • Deliver new and used vehicles to customers. This process ensures that the customer understands the vehicle's operating features, warranty and paperwork, and it lays the foundation for customer loyalty.
  • Attend sales meetings.
  • Maintain an owner follow-up system that encourages repeat and referral business and contributes to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a prospect development system.
  • Keep abreast of new products, features, accessories, etc., and their benefits to customers.
  • Review and analyze actions at the end of each day, week, month, and year to determine how to better utilize time and plans more effectively.
  • Understand the terminology of the automobile business and keep abreast of technological changes in the product.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Dealership management.

Qualifications:

  • Previous sales experience; preferably automotive sales.
  • A professional appearance and customer oriented attitude.
  • A valid in-state driver's license with an acceptable driving record according to dealership guidelines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and telephone skills; well organized and self-motivated.
  • Take all factory tests and become a certified salesperson.
  • Know and understand (or be willing to learn) the federal, state and local laws which govern retail auto sales.
  • Introduce customers to service department personnel to emphasize to customers the quality and efficiency of the dealership's service operations.
  • Carry out sales, customer service and job performance as directed throughout our Sales Consultant Training Program.
  • Must be legally and technically able to safely operate company and customer-owned vehicles. SEAT BELTS ARE REQUIRED TO BE WORN 100% OF THE TIME WHILE OPERATING COMPANY OR CUSTOMER-OWNED VEHICLES.
  • Must be insurable by our Dealership insurance company.
  • Must follow Dealership safety policies and practices, and immediately report any and all accidents to a Manager/Supervisor.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Must have a valid in-state driver's license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to sell a minimum quota according to dealership standards.
  • Must be able to become certified as a Ford and/or Lincoln sales professional with passing grades on all in-house tests.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance to manufacturer standards
  • Test drive vehicles, test components as well as electrical systems including but not limited to powertrain, steering and suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Communication with service advisor so customers can be informed if any additional services are needed.
  • Strong automotive background
  • Must own tools to perform the required repairs

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Promptly meet and assist both the technicians, retail and wholesale customers in a friendly and courteous manner
  • Obtain the correct parts and accessories for both the technician and the retail guest in a timely manner
  • Accurately price parts and accessories using the proper pricing source and transfer the information to the proper document and computer system
  • Answer telephone calls promptly, courteously, and make every effort to satisfy the caller's inquiry

The Detail Center washes, waxes, cleans, polishes and uses special restoration methods to make used and new cars ready to retail at both of our Sioux City locations. Previous related experience is preferred but not required.

Typical Hours and Days

Detail Department is hiring for Tuesday- Saturday 8:00am-5pm.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Cleans and refurbishes new, used and customer automobiles.
  • Washes vehicle exterior, cleans interior and exterior windows, wipes down doorjambs, and applies dressing on tires and tire wells.
  • Applies wax to new deliveries, and wipes or buffs surface, to all necessary vehicles.
  • Vacuums interior of vehicles and trunks to remove loose dirt and debris.
  • Cleans upholstery, rugs, ashtrays, cup holders, center consoles, headliners and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices; replaces missing or defective small parts (i.e. screws, license plates)
  • Applies revitalizers and preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals.
  • Cleans engine; engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents.
  • Applies special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials utilizing experience and judgment following product manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, molding and poor mechanical operation.
  • Restores appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery, and painted surfaces. Uses touch-up paint, dyes, and other appropriate materials.
  • Fills vehicle with fuel, if needed.
  • Ensures proper stickers are displayed in the vehicle's window and keys the lot and removes all window stickers on sold vehicles.
  • Keeps work area and dealership neat and clean and organizes supplies and equipment.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner; uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management and knows where and how to use MSDS sheets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills:
  • Must have at least six (6) months of detail or vehicle reconditioning experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record and at least 18 years of age required to drive company or customer vehicles with manual or automatic transmission.
